The terms that apply when you book and attend an ExpatDoc Online consultation.
ExpatDoc Online provides remote medical consultations to patients who are physically located in Ireland at the time of the appointment.
Our service does not replace emergency care. If you have symptoms of a medical emergency, call 112 or 999 or attend your nearest emergency department.
You must provide accurate personal and medical information so that our doctors can care for you safely.
Our doctors are registered with the Irish Medical Council and work within Irish clinical guidelines.
A prescription, certificate or referral is only issued where it is clinically appropriate following assessment. Payment for a consultation is not payment for a specific outcome.
Some medicines, including controlled drugs, cannot be prescribed remotely.
Consultations, medical records and communications are handled on secure, encrypted platforms in line with Irish and EU data protection law.
Your records are shared only with your consent, or where disclosure is required by law or to protect someone from serious harm.
Refunds depend on the type of service booked.
Appointments cancelled with reasonable notice before the scheduled time are refunded in full.
Where a consultation has taken place, the consultation fee covers the doctor's assessment and time and is generally non-refundable, even if a prescription or certificate is not clinically appropriate.
If a technical failure on our side prevents your appointment from going ahead, we will rebook you or issue a full refund.
We take all feedback seriously. To raise a complaint, email support@expatdoctoronline.ie with your name, appointment date and a description of the issue.
We acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and aim to provide a full response within 30 days.
If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate the matter to the relevant Irish regulatory body.
